Kataklysmos exists only in Cyprus. Possibly dating to ancient Aphrodite/Adonis festivals. Week-long festival in Larnaca: fairground, water games, cultural program, magical coastal atmosphere.
What to Expect
Fairground along Finikoudes promenade (free entry, food €2-5). Water games (spraying with water pistols). Cultural: concerts, folk dance, poetry, fireworks on final evening.
The section on "Europe's Only Water Festival" was the most valuable for us. We couldn't find this information anywhere else before our move. It saved us a lot of time and hassle.
